Three Places In Greece You’ve Never Heard Of But Need To See
Everyone knows the popular islands of Mykonos or Santorini but the country has so much more to offer

Every time I tell someone I live in Greece, they get excited and begin going on about how it's on their bucket list to visit. Of course, I follow up with, “Where do you want to go in Greece?!”
They quickly respond, “What's that island called..Myk…Mykonos?”
I roll my eyes and say “Ugh, it's beautiful, but overpriced, overpopulated, and a tourist trap.”
Greece is such a geographically diverse country. One minute you’re in one of the most unique lush mountainous lands and the next you are on the beach in cool pristine waters. You have rugged, rocky hills then miles of green landscapes. AND it’s all within 5 hours of Athens.
I recently took a solo road trip to two beach towns that locals frequent and a mountain town that would leave even the most avid traveler stunned.
- Nafplio

Nafplio is a beach town only a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Athens. I took the long way along the coast to enjoy the views of the blue sea only an arm's length away. Nafplio was the original capital of Greece. The small town has two fortresses. The Akronauplia’s Fortress is small with the above view of the sea and city on the other end. The second, 857-step high fortress, Palamidis, is a true sight and a playground for explorers. If you survive all the stairs, find your way through the entire fortress, winding through tunnels, hiking up stone paths, and crossing bridges, all the way to the back of the fortress.

The town below features the typical narrow Greek streets, providing a delightful experience weaving through them and discovering numerous charming shops that are sure to put a hole in your pockets.
